A Document of Acceleration | a film by Werner Jambor
For his dark science fiction novel from 1949, George Orwell chose “1984” as the outlook and book title. 25 years later, total surveillance and the annihilation of individuality remain fiction. Nevertheless, the often-cited Orwell year 1984 is marked by the beginnings of those computer technologies that made networking and surveillance ready for series production. “25 Years 1984 – Clock Speed and Disk Space” is a document of acceleration. ARTGENOSSEN shows human and electronic contemporaries on a journey into the network of condensation.
